Mabel

The Mabel was built by William White at Canal Side, Ulverston. She was a two-masted schooner, launched on the 28th March 1876. She  immediately entered the fleet of William Postlethwaite. Her master was Capt. John Latham at least until 1879, possibly longer.

The Mabel, of Barrow, was berthed at Braddan, Isle of Man, on the night of the April 1881 Census. There were five people aboard, four from Connah's Quay, including the master Capt.Humphrey Bennett., and his wife.

The Mabel was sold by Postlethwaite in 1907 to John McBurney of Annalong, Co. Down. Her registry at Barrow was closed in 1924.
