Isabella Fisher

Official Number
18224

The schooner Isabella Fisher was built at Northwich, Cheshire, in 1855 for James Fisher of Barrow. In 1859 she was commanded by Capt. Robert Ashburner and operated in the coasting trade.

On the night of 20th December 1860 the Isabella Fisher grounded in a snow storm on the Skul Martin rock off  Ballywalter. The wreck was subsequently sold by auction, where she lay, after her cargo had been discharged. The schooner had been on a voyage from Ardrossan to Newport with pig iron under the command of Capt.Thomas Gracie. Her entry in the Lancaster shipping register was subsequently closed, it being noted that the schooner had been broken-up in 1860.
