The schooner Rigby was built at Frodsham, Cheshire, in 1840.
In February 1852 she was bought by a group of Barrow shareholders led by
James Fisher. She was managed by Fisher until her loss in 1866. On passage
from Liverpool to Newry, she foundered on the 9th September with the loss
of all hands.
