From the Ulverston Mirror, 27th January 1866
 

A fine new three-masted schooner Julia, Capt. Pernie, finished loading at Barrow on Tuesday, and is bound for the Bristol Channel. She is owned by J.Bell & Co. of  Ulverston and carries 290 tons deadweight. She was built by Simpson at Glasson Dock.

The Julia passed into the hands of Barrow shipowners James Fisher & Son  in 1877 and was owned by them until her loss.

The Julia was berthed at Newport (Monmouthshire) on Census night in April 1881, and her crew were listed as follows:

Carl Halberg  U 20 Denmark   OS 

The Julia sank off Porthdinlleon on the 23rd March 1905. All the crew were rescued.
