Gleaston Miller

Official Number
13149

The Gleaston Miller was a small schooner built at Runcorn in 1843.

The Preston Guardian, 18th September 1858;

" SHIPWRECK - The schooner Gleaston Miller, of Ulverston, John Anyon, master, when on her passage from South Wales to Ulverston, yesterday week, was driven on shore on the mainland in Bardsey Island Sound, under high rocks, and will, we fear, become a total wreck. We regret to add that the master and mate have met with a watery grave. The former has left a wife and young family, residing at Barrow, to mourn his loss. The vessel is the property of Mr.Patrickson, of Scales. - Ulverston Advertiser"

Whilst the vessel continued to be recorded in shipping registers, this is possibly due to the owners failing to notify the Registrar of the wreck, rather than the veseel having been saved.
