The Palmyra was a barque built on the Isle of Man in 1837. She was initially registered  in Liverpool, and was commanded by Capt.J.Croal.  She spent her whole career in the trade to the Caribbean. She was bought by Capt.Croal in about 1853 and continued in the same trade, though her port of registry was transferred to London. The Palmyra, Capt.Croal, from Demerara for London, was abandoned on the 8th January 1856. The crew were taken off by the Alma, bound from Trinidad for Liverpool, and landed at Liverpool on the 25th January.
