The Cumberland Pacquet, Tuesday, 8th September 1816:
" Wednesday last, a fine new brig was launched from
Messrs.Smith and Co.'s yard at Skerton, near Lancaster, called Active, 173
tons burthen, and commanded by Captain Bragg."
The Active existed first in the trade to South America from
Liverpool,
and then in the 1830's between Glasgow and the West Indies. She
ended her career owned in Anglesey, and had disappeared from Lloyd's
Register after 1850.
