Alexander

The Alexander was a 255 ton full-rigged ship built at Lancaster in October 1794. She was owned by Robert and Alexander Worswick, of Lancaster, and commanded by Capt.John Pawson. The Alexander was taken by the French in November 1797 in the West Indies. After being dismasted in bad weather, the ship was attacked and captured by an 18-gun privateer, losing two crew and a passenger in the action, and seven wounded. The Alexander was taken into Guadeloupe (see Source 2).
