The Arrow was a schooner built by Nicholson at Glasson Dock and launched on Tuesday, 21st November 1843. She was owned by Mr.Arrowsmith, of Preston, and was registered at that port. She was initially employed in the trade between Preston and Belfast.

The Arrow was eventualy sold to Capt.Mitchison of Liverpool, and was registered there. On a voyage from Seaham to Bordeaux under the command of Capt.Mitchison, the Arrow was wrecked on the Long Sand, off Harwich, on the 27th December 1851. She filled and fell onto her beam ends, then was abandoned by her crew, who were all saved.
