The Betty and Jane was a sloop built at Lancaster and launched on the 3rd July 1824.

The Lancaster Gazette and General Advertiser, Saturday, 10th July 1824;

" On Saturday last, a fine new sloop was launched from the building-yard of Messrs.T.Worthington & Co. at Skerton, near this town. She is called the Betty and Jane, 65 tons burthen, and is intended for the Ulverston trade."

The Betty and Jane, of Duddon, Capt.John Russel, sailed from Preston on the 1st December 1825, carrying a coal cargo for Mr.Robinson, of Bardsea. The vessel was not seen thereafter, and was assumed lost with all hands.
