The Brothers was a brig built by Caleb Smith & Co., and launched at Skerton, Lancaster, on the 26th June 1813. She was built for the Baltic trade, and the command of Capt.John Bragg. She was first registered at Lancaster on the 21st June.
The Brothers departed Lancaster on the 9th July, bound for Archangel under the command of Capt.Bragg. She was captured and sent into Hamesport by two American privateers operating off the North Cape, said to be a brig and a schooner, presumed to be part of Rodgers' squadron. Her crew were amongst 70 men landed at Peterhead on the 17th September, part of the the crews of 23 captured vessels that had been bound for Archangel.
