The Eagle was built by John Bamber at Wigan in 1791. The registration document shows the vessel being registered in Lancaster in November 1829. John Turner, merchant of Preston, is listed as the sole owner. Capt. John Bond was the master in 1829 and was succeeded by Thomas ?Buller in 1833 and Terrett  two years later. The Eagle was a sloop with a sliding bowsprit.
