The Lancaster Gazette and General Advertiser, Saturday, 5th September 1807;

" On Thursday last, a remarkably fine new ship was launched from Mr.Brockbank's yard, in this town. She is called the Lord Cranstoun, burthen 450 tons, and built for Messrs.Williams, Wilson and Co., of Liverpool. "

Lloyd's List, 8th December 1826, page 1;

" Birling Gap, near Newhaven, 7th December - The Lord Cranstoun, Brunnel, from Jamaica to London, was driven on a bed of Rocks about a mile to the Eastward, this morning, and it is feared will be wrecked."

Lloyd's List, 26th December 1826, page 1;

" The Lord Cranstoun, from Jamaica to London, which was driven on shore near Birling Gap 7th inst. Was got off on Wednesday night, and towed into Newhaven Harbour. She is so much damaged that it is doubtful that she can go to sea again."
