The Paragon was a brig built by Worthington & Co., and was launched at Skerton, Lancaster, on Saturday 17th April 1824. She had been built for the Jamaica trade, and was to be commanded by Capt.Simpson.

At the time of her loss in 1838 the Paragon was owned by Smith & Co. and was registered at Maryport. The brig was wrecked in a severe snow-storm at Ballynesker on the coast of Wexford on Friday morning, 16th February 1838. She was bound from Liverpool for Pernambuco. Six of the crew were lost, the rest were saved by a local boat.

Another brig named Paragon was registered at Maryport from 1829.
