Bessy

Official Number
?????

The Bessy was an auxiliary ketch which foundered 12 miles NNW of Peel on the 2nd March 1918, whilst carrying a cargo of scrap iron from Douglas to Glasgow. She was believed to have been shelled by a German submarine.

Larn states that the Bessy was built in 1862 by J.Qualtrough at Castletown, Isle of Man. This does not correspond to information in the Mercantile Navy List, so needs to be verified.
