The Cumberland Pacquet and Ware's Whitehaven Advertiser, Tuesday, 3rd March 1840, page 3;

" On Tuesday last a fine new brig, completely rigged, was launched from the building-yard at Ramsey, Isle of Man. She has been purchased by J.Coulthard, Esq., of London, and is intended for the American trade."

The brig was named Manico, and was first registered at Newcastle. She was subsequently registered at Littlehampton, then Gravesend, and was lost in 1847, South of Bermuda on a voyage to Baltimore.

The Morning Chronicle (London newspaper), Wednesday, 28th April 1847;

" The brig Manico, of London, from Littlehampton to Baltimore, was fallen in with in a sinking state on the 29th of March, in lat.28, long.67, and the crew taken off, by the Charlotte, arrived at Boston from Valparaiso."
