The Bella Isle was a brig built at Maryport by Thomas Wood in 1791. She was registered at Maryport in 1840, owned by John Walker and commanded by Capt.John Huddart.

The Bella Isle was wrecked at Kearney Point, Portavogie, Co.Down, on the 12th January 1845, on passage from Maryport to Dublin with a coal cargo. The cause of the loss was ascribed by the local newspaper to the master mistaking the light at St.John's Point for that at the Mull of Galloway.
