The Bella Marina was a full-rigged ship built at Maryport by Kelsick Wood, launched on the 4th April 1840. At the start of her career she operated in the trade to India and China under the command of Capt.Thomas Asbridge, until he left to take command of the Eliza Moore in 1846.
