The Agnes was a fishing sloop, built in 1879 and owned at the time of her loss by R.Kendall, of Maryport. The Agnes was lost with her two man crew in a force 9 Northerly gale on the 1st May 1888, foundering in the Solway Firth whilst fishing. The drowned men were the master, R.Kendall, and Thomas Armstrong.
