Eden Holme
Official Number
62035

The Eden Holme was an iron barque built at Sunderland in January 1875. She was owned by Maryport's Holme Line (Hine Brothers) and was registered at Maryport. Like most of the Holme Line sailing vessels, the Eden Holme traded between the UK and Australia, and to Tasmania in particular.

The Eden Holme was wrecked on a voyage from Hobart to Launceston, Tasmania. Whilst anchored off the Tamar river and waiting for a tug, the Eden Holme grounded on the Hebe reef on the 6th January 1907. As the tide fell some of her iron plates were damaged and the barque began to take in water. On the 20th January a gale broke the vessel in two, and she sank. Capt.G.H.Dulling was master of the barque, but the vessel was in the charge of the local pilot when she struck, resulting in the suspension of his pilot's certificate.
