Indian Queen

The Indian Queen was a three-masted tern schooner built at Coldwater,
Georgian Bay (Ontario, Canada) in May 1857. She was built by Alex McKie
and finished by John McCord, at a cost of $16,000, and her first owner
was John Fitch. She briefly operated on the Great Lakes and was registered
at Montreal, but in the year after her launch was sailed to Britain for
sale. In June 1862 she was bought by William Bruce of Liverpool, and in
October of that year was registered at Maryport. In 1868 her registry was
transferred to Liverpool.
