The Diana was a brig built at Great Yarmouth in 1805. In 1840 she was owned by George Key and was registered at Maryport. Her master was Capt.William Robinson.

From the "Cumberland Pacquet and Ware's Whitehaven Advertiser", Tuesday, 18th December 1849, page 3 :

" The Diana, of and from Maryport, for Londonderry, in making Lough Foyle on the 5th instant, at six o'clock a.m., in a snow shower, went on shore underneath the pilots' watch house, and became a total wreck; crew saved; also some of the sails and materials saved. "
