The Fanny Peat was built at Maryport by John Peat, jun., her builder's certificate being dated 4th May 1840. She was registered at Maryport and was a two-masted schooner of 76 tons.

The Fanny Peat, Capt.Welsh, from Liverpool for Dantzic, was wrecked on the 15th or 16th November 1844, on the North side of Skye. All the crew survived.
