The Cumberland Pacquet and Ware's Whitehaven Advertiser, Tuesday, 4th November 1845, page 3;

" A handsome new vessel was launched at Maryport yesterday, called the Henry Ismay, of 157 tons register, O.M., and intended for the foreign trade. "

The Henry Ismay was owned by J.Ismay and was registered at Maryport in her early years. She was then sold to Irish owners, first at Drogheda, then at Dublin.

The Henry Ismay was run down by the steamer Duke of Argyll off the Copeland Islands in January 1880. The mate was drowned. A boat bearing the brig's name was subsequently washed up at Campbeltown.
