Huntress
Official Number
9336

The Huntress was a schooner built at Maryport in 1846. She was registered at Maryport in 1857 and at Workington in 1865, when she was owned and commanded by J.Henderson (see Source 3).

The Huntress, of Workington, was reported wrecked on the night of Wednesday, 22nd January 1868 at Broughton Bay (Gower peninsula) after leaving Llanelli (see Sources 4 and 5 - "The Huntress totally wrecked in Broughton-bay; crew lost, number unknown, supposed to be at least six in number" ). However, Source 1 reports that the vessel was still registered at Workington in 1873, so possibly the vessel was salvaged, or her identity was mistaken in the newspaper reports.
