The Mary Lee was barque built at Maryport by Robert Ritson in 1859. She was initially owned by J.McNeil and was registered at Maryport.
From the Cumberland Pacquet and Ware's Whitehaven Advertiser, Tuesday, 3rd April, 1860, page 8:
" Holyhead, March 30 - Put in, the barque Mary Lee, of Maryport, from Liverpool for Hong Kong, with the late master, Capt.Archibald Lister, dead: a heavy sea having broke on board on the night of Wednesday last, forcing the master against the stanchions and lee bulwarks, and causing him so much injury that he died before reaching port this morning."
