The Bleng was a brig built at Whitehaven by Lumley Kennedy & Co., launched 29th November 1836. In 1840 she was still registered at Whitehaven, owned by Joseph Younghusband and her master was Capt.John M'Dowell.

The Bleng was lost off the South American coast in 1840 (from Source 1).

From "The Times" newspaper, Tuesday, 16th February, 1841, page 7 :

SHIP NEWS : MAZATLAN, Nov.8 - It blew a terrific hurricane at San Blas on the 1st inst., during which all the vessels in the harbour were driven on shore. Amongst them the Bleng, from Liverpool, expected to become a total wreck, and the Maria del Carmel, which is expected off without much damage to her cargo. The Bleng had discharged her cargo.
