Camana

The Camana was a brig built by T.& J.Brocklebank at Bransty, Whitehaven, launched in November 1842. For the Brocklebank line she operated mostly in the trade to Callao, Valparaiso and other ports of the Pacific coast of South America. In 1844 and 1846 she made voyages to Calcutta. In 1860 she was sold to Whitehaven owners.

The Camana sailed from Antigua on the 27th April 1863 bound for Liverpool, under the commmand of Capt.Coulthard. She was found abandoned on the 25th May, in lat.42N, long.35W, by the Lise Amelie.
