Cossack
Official Number
none

The Cossack was an eight gun brig launched on the 4th February 1813. She had been built by Daniel, Thomas & John Brocklebank at Whitehaven,  and she served the Brocklebank Line for eleven years.

The Cossack mainly sailed to the Caribbean and South America, and was lost on such a voyage in 1824. On passage from Liverpool to Buenos Aires under Capt.Kerr she encountered a heavy gale as she neared the River Plate. On the 19th March the brig struck the Orhez Bank ("Banco Ingles") off Montevideo and sank in 5 fathoms. Source 1 states that the mate was drowned, but Source 2 states that no lives were lost.
