The Doris was a brigantine built by Thos. & Jno. Brocklebank at Bransty, Whitehaven. She was launched on the 20th June 1818. Towards the end of the year the brigantine was sold to Jeffersons, Whitehaven merchants much involved in the Caribbean trade. Under the command of Capt.John White  the Doris traded from Liverpool to Brazil in her first three years, then Liverpool to Charleston until 1824. In 1825 she sailed from Liverpool for the Bahamas.

Source 2 cites Lloyds List (24th May 1825) giving the report of her wreck, reported from Nassau on the 15th April: "Doris, White, from St.Domingo for Falmouth, has been totally lost on Heneaga. Crew and some of the materials saved".
