Edith

The Edith was a brigantine built at Miminegash, Prince Edward Island, in 1864. She was registered there until 1870, then sold to a Liverpool owner and was registered at Whitehaven. She was abandoned in the English Channel in 1876.

The Liverpool Mercury, 15th November 1876;

" A brigantine (the Edith, of Whitehaven, owned by John Pickthall, of Liverpool, bound from Garston for Brixham, with a cargo of coals) was abandoned by her crew near the Lizard yesterday afternoon, where they landed. The Edith drifted eastward, and a steam tug left Falmouth in search of her."
