Isabella Dobson

Several vessels were built at the Berwick shipyard of AB Gowan & Son for Whitehaven owners, including the Emily Burnyeat, Langrigg, Lythemore, and Cypriot. The Isabella Dobson was a brig, built there in September 1866 for J.Dobson, of Whitehaven. The vessel was registered at Whitehaven and her first master was Capt.J.Borrowdale. In May 1867 she arrived at Jamaica from New York with passengers.

The Isabella Dobson was lost with all hands after leaving Queenstown, bound for Glasgow, on the 29th September 1868. She had arrived at Queenstown from Alexandria.
