The Cumbrian was a large brig built at Whitehaven, launched 23rd Sept.1816
by William Bowes & Son. In 1840 she was registered at Whitehaven and
was owned by Capt.John Roper, her master, and others. He or his family were still owners of the vessel in 1865.
The Cumbrian was stranded and wrecked in Strangford Lough on
the 3rd July 1874, carrying a coal cargo.
