The Excelsior was a brigantine built at Whitehaven by Lumley Kennedy & Co. , and launched in August 1860. She was registered at Whitehaven and was owned by Kelly & Co. Her master was named as T.Kelly in 1863/4 (see Source 2), when the vessel was wrecked.
