The Urania was a full-rigged ship built at Whitehaven by Thomas Kirk, launched 9th July 1799.

On the 8th June 1805 the Urania, Capt.Walker, was captured by the French fleet after leaving Antigua. Also captured was the Byam, also of Whitehaven, and 11 or 12 other British ships.
