The Crummock Water was an iron barque built by the Whitehaven
Ship Building Company in April 1878 for Jackson & Metcalf of Liverpool.
The vessel was bought by Italian owners in 1896 and renamed Nostra Signora
del Rosario. She left Cadiz on the 15th February 1914 and was later
listed as "Missing", with the loss of 25 crew.
