Harding

The Harding was a brig built at Bristol in 1823. She was owned by J.Harding, of Workington, and belonged to that port. On the 29th November 1826 the Harding, Capt.Herring, from St.Andrews, New Brunswick, for Jamaica, was wrecked on an uncharted coral rock, position later reported as lat.20.40 N, long.71.05W. The crew abandoned the vessel and spent 4 days and three nights at sea before landing at Port-au-Prince, Hayti, on the 2nd December.

This vessel should not be confused with the Hardings.
