The Horatio was a brig built at by William Wallace at Workington
in 1824. She was originally owned by J.Spark of Workington. By 1863 she
was owned in Maryport by shipbuilder Robert Ritson & Co., and in that
year she was commanded by Capt.John Brown of Workington.
In 1866 the Horatio was lengthened and at this time was
probably re-rigged as a barque, probably at the Maryport shipyard of
Robert Ritson, her owner.
The Horatio sailed from Troon for Demerara with a coal cargo on the 26th February 1886. She was never seen again.
