The Indian was a brig of 231 tons, built at Workington by Wood & Peile in 1820. She was wrecked in the Caribbean in 1842.

The Caledonian Mercury, Monday, 27th June, 1842;

" St.Thomas', May 27 - The Indian, Scott, struck on Aves Island Reef, near Bonayre, 11th instant, knocked a hole in her bottom, and filled; crew saved."
