The Jane Sprott was an iron barque built by R.Williamson &
Son at Harrington in June 1868. She was initially owned by J.B.Sprott and
registered at Liverpool, her ownership changing to Jackson & Metcalf,
of the same port, some time after 1890.
The Jane Sprott was bought by the Adelaide Steamship Company
in about 1902, renamed Copeland Island, then Copeland. She
was used as a hulk at Albany until 1928, when she was scuttled on the 18th
May 1928 at Gull Rock, near Albany, Australia.
