The Palendar was a brig or schooner built at Workington by Peile & Scott, launched on the 22nd July 1841 (see Source 1).

The Palendar, described as a brig owned by Peile, Scott & Co., and under the command of Capt.Copeland, was wrecked on the night of Thursday, 29th October, 1857 at Drigg, near Ravenglass. She was driven ashore capsized, and her crew were saved by the crew of the Mercury, Capt.Brewster, of Whitehaven, which went ashore alongside her soon after (see Source 2).
