The San Carlos was a barque built by Charles Lamport at Workington in April 1866. She was owned by William Nicol, of Liverpool, and was commanded by Capt.J.Nicol for the whole of her career.

The San Carlos departed Swansea bound for Valparaiso on the 26th July 1870, under the command of Capt.Nicol. At some time in the following year she was wrecked.
