William Turner

The William Turner was a barque built by Fell at Workington and launched in July 1862. The vessel was registered at Dumfries in 1864. In January 1871 the vessel arrived at Sydney, NSW, from New York, under the command of Captain John Redmond (see Source 2). Her registry was transferred from Dumfries to Sydney in February 1871. In March 1876 the William Turner arrived at Sydney from Hong Kong, bound for Melbourne, under the command of Capt. Kemp Vanderword.
